Time is past to nominate a student for the 2008 Fox Scholarship. If you have a promising student this summer or fall, think about the 2009 Scholarship.

The 2008 Glenn Fox Scholarship
   

The Virginia Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges will award a merit scholarship of $400 per semester for the academic year 2008-2009.

Criteria include:  

1.  Intention to major in mathematics, computer science, or mathematics education and demonstrate potential for success in any of these areas. Preference will be given to those candidates who intend to teach mathematics or computer science.

2.  Demonstrate ability, determination, and motivation necessary for successful academic performance.

3.  Have completed at least 12 semester hours of college-level courses, including 3 hours of transfer mathematics at a Virginia community college by the end of Spring Semester 2008 with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

4.  Continue for two semesters (Fall 2008 - Spring 2009) at a Virginia community college and enroll in at least 6 semester hours of college-level courses, including a transfer-level mathematics course, for each semester the scholarship is received.
